Bell Asset Management (BAM), a leading independently-owned Australian-based global equities manager, today announced the appointment of Nina Redfern as Head of Distribution.

Ned Bell, Bell Asset Management’s Chief Investment Officer, said Ms Redfern would work closely with industry and corporate superannuation funds, government investment agencies, insurance groups, multi-manager investment platforms and asset consultants.

“This position has been created to lead the distribution efforts of our global equities strategy and Nina’s appointment is a great win for the business. Her experience adds to our already strong investment capability,” said Mr Bell.

“We have delivered outstanding returns to our clients over a long period and Nina’s appointment is a natural step for us to expand our business both in Australia and off-shore.”

Ms Redfern most recently worked as a Director for Client and Consultant Relationships at Queensland Investment Corp (QIC) and previously at Royal London Asset Management as the Head of Consultant Relationships.

Bell Asset Management has over $5 billion in funds under management and administration and offers a range of different investment products to retail, wholesale and institutional investors.

The firm’s core focus is its global equity capability and in the past 12 years it has consistently outperformed global benchmarks and peers. Over this time period BAM has outperformed the MSCI World ex Australia index by 2.65% per annum with an information ratio of 0.81 (as at 31 December 2014).

Ms Redfern said that she believed there would be strong on-going demand from institutional and retail investors for active global equities and that Bell Asset Management was extremely well positioned to help clients capitalise on investment opportunities outside Australia.

“Bell Asset Management is a trusted asset manager with an excellent track record over an extended period,” said Ms Redfern. “I look forward to helping investors shape their portfolios.”
