Global equities boutique manager, Bell Asset Management’s (BAM) Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund has won the category award for International Equities – Global Small Cap at the 11th Annual Zenith Investment Partners funds management awards that were held on Friday in Sydney.
The awards recognise and encourage excellence in funds management and aim to raise the industry standard for the ultimate benefit of investors.
Commenting on the award, Ned Bell, Chief Investment Officer, said he was delighted to receive this award that recognised BAM’s strong track record in investing in global equities, its robust investment process and highly experienced investment team.
“Our quality at a reasonable price philosophy and strong investment process has allowed us to deliver investors strong and consistent returns even during periods of market volatility. Over approximately 20 years we have developed a disciplined, research-led approach to stock selection, that positions us well through the ups and downs of the market,” Mr Bell said.
Over the last five years to 30 September 2022, the Fund has returned 10.37% per annum, outperforming its benchmark MSCI World SMID Cap Index by 3.55% pa.
The Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund continues to gain strong interest from investors, as many are looking to complement a growth allocation to global equities with global small and mid-cap (SMID) stocks. We believe the current volatility presents a phenomenal buying opportunity for long-term investors in quality companies.” Mr Bell added.
Judging of the Zenith Fund Awards is based on long-term factors derived from conducting due diligence into fund managers including organisational and investment team strength, investment philosophy, security valuation and selection, portfolio construction, risk management, and fees. The research house also looks at quantitative aspects of the funds longer-term returns to investors.
